this sounds like things that have happened to me, and happen to people daily
on the hills. I've started labelling all applicable items (bodies, lenses,
hoods etc) with a small sticky label that bears my name & address. If an
honest person finds the item I so stupidly left behind, I have half a chance
of it returning to me. You wouldn't believe the contents of 'Lost & found'
cupboards I have heard of... but then again, perhaps you would.
