Thanks for sharing this story, it probably saved me some grief. When I was at
Lens & Shutter (a large local store with "pro" and 1 hr labs), I bought a roll
of Velvia, and some Elite II, which they sell proc. incl. for $10/roll. I asked
if they did Cibachrome. They said no, but they do have prints from slides, and
gave me a price list. Are they internegs? No, he said. Are they digital? He
wasn't sure, as he was just a counter person.
So are there any other options than digital, interneg and Cibachrome?
Should I go with the local pro lab, who offers internegs (up to 4x5 if I want),
and does great printing; or should I seek a lab with Ciba/Ilfochrome?
Keep in mind the final print size will be 8x10 to 11x14, and I don't want to
spend a fortune...
