I have a 1-8 screen that I sometimes use on my OM-1 (MD). I bought it for
astrophotography but have used it for regular photography too. It does NOT
mess up my metering -- at least my Gossen digitial light meter is within
a fraction of an EV on a reflected light as my OM-1 is (on the same subject,
of course). Only problem is that it is stricly ground glass -- although it
seems
to ground glass of 2 different finenesses. Its a little hard to know when
I'm
in focus with my somewhat failing eyesight -- which problem I don't have
with a split-prism of fresnel ring.

P.S. -- Since the OM-1 (and OM-1N) is the "ideal" 35mm camera for
astrophotography
( 1 - manual shutter, 2 - replaceable viewscreens, 3 - Mirror Lockup), I
wonder
how many people here got into the OM system because of Astrophotography?
I guess my question is -- how many amateur astronomers do we have on this
list?
I am! (amateur)
