I once handed a airport security guard a fresh box of Kodak 4x5 chrome
film AND SHE PROCEEDED TO TRY TO OPEN THE BOX! You may conclude that it
still disturbs me. I stopped her before she ruined $50.00 worth of new
film AND THEN SHE LET ME PASS! Not sure which was worse.
I also once sent my briefcase through the x-ray machine with a test
probe used to check missile thermal coating electrical conductivity
inside. Block of acrylic with two large chunks of copper and some curly
wires ending in plugs. The guard saw it on the x-ray and asked to
inspect my case. I said sure and opened it for him. He took out all of
my stuff, including the manila envelope with the test probe in it, never
found anything AND SENT ME ON MY WAY without asking where the suspicious
thing with curly wires was!
I have my doubts about how well they are protecting us...
