I have its lower powered counterpart, the T-8 ring flash. I also have a
T-28 Twin with all the assorted "accessories" required to get the most
benefit from it. The T-10 is, as its identifying number indicates,
substantially less powerful than the twin T-28's. It also shares the
characteristic of extremely flat, featureless lighting as is sibling. I
chose the T-8 because it emits light perpendicular to the lens axis into a
reflector, giving a slightly softer effect. The T-10 fires its light
directly forward if I understood correctly, giving a harsher light. Neither
ring flash can match the effectiveness of the twin T-28 for its modeling
capability or the ability to use filters from the T-32 filter kit - slip on
quite nicely they do (thanks Frank). As the ring flashes are so low power,
I do not think they are well suited to portrait work. Just not enough
lumens.
