Hi,
I think it is a matter of money. As far as I know the 50/1.4 or 50/1.2 is not
generally better than the 50/1.8. They have their best performance at different
apertures. Besides, the extra money one pay for getting a slightly faster lens
is quite high. And as I see it, I don't need faster than f/1.8. I guess the
other f/1.8'ers think about the same.
