Hmm, not really -- at least, not in the U.S. M*n*lta's 24-85mm
sells new for US$425, whereas N*k*n's very successful 24-120mm
is priced around US$550. Neither lens is particularly fast, or
has a pro-level construction, but both reputedly perform very
well, and you can buy them BOTH for much less than the price of
a single and only(*) Zuiko zoom still available new.
Granted, the 24-120mm N*kk*r may not compete with prime lenses
as well as the 35-80mm Zuiko, but as a simple "body plus zoom"
outfit this N*k*n combo is far more versatile than anything a
Zuik can put together right now with his/her gear.
(*) Yeah, yeah, I know: I forgot the two new OM-2000 zooms.
Oh well, sometimes amnesia is a GOOD thing :-).
Cheers,
