Apparently, a solid catadioptric is such that the entire
space between the front and rear mirrors is made of solid
optical glass. I've never seen a Solid CAT Series 1 taken
apart, so no first-hand confirmation here, but the lenses
themselves are actually inscribed "solid catadioptric" on
the lens rim, and their mass density certainly justifies
such a hypothesis.
Oh, and btw, there is no such thing as silly questions,
only silly answers -- my great specialty :-?).
