Hi,
Long time no see. Ever since I left the country for 3 days, I haven't
been able to catch up with the Olympus mailing list digests. I'm now at
digest #187...
I just bought myself a new tripod. Gitzo 201 Reporter. Unfortunately,
at home I noticed that it wasn't straight and I had to return it ...
The shop was *very* surprised because it was the first time they had a
problem with Gitzo.
I like the tripod because it's only 1.8 kg and the head (a 3-way
Manfrotto) adds 1 kg, which makes it carryable.
Something completely else : I've turned my OM-3 into a pinhole camera.
I've made a large hole in a body cover. This I covered with aluminum.
In the aluminum there's a hole of 0.1mm, which turns my OM-3 into a +/-
f500 pinhole camera :-) Exposures of 8 seconds up to 45 minutes, but
the effects are really cool. I've made a picture of a room, but right
in front of the camera I put a plug for the electricity outlet. So now,
there's a HUGE plug in this picture ! As with pinhole camera's, this
plug is exactly as sharp as the rest of the picture. Completely weird !
My next project will be an OM-1 pinhole. I want to lock up the mirror
(hence the OM-1) and put the pinhole halfway into the mirrorbox for the
wide-angle effect.
