He means Australia has no constitutionally enshrined right to free
speech. There IS freedom of speech - excluding personal defamation
(I won't go into it) - by default, you just don't have a legal right
to it.
You won't go to jail if you say anything against the government but
say something about a politician personally and you will quite likely
find yourself the subject of a libel suit quicker than you can say
OM.
Not quite as bad as Singapore in this regard but not a lot better.
Oh, and I am on Lee's side because it really is so easy to reply to
someone personally - easier than operating a cash register. Not
replying personally could lead to those with suspicious minds - like
moi - thinking that one was seeking to garner as much trade as
possible -no offence intended whatsoever.
I can appreciate the point of those who would like to know if so-
and-so do dad is available, but by now I think most of us are
aware that Paul has quite an extensive inventory of hard to find
items. If I were after something I would email Paul directly
asking him if he had so-and-so, rather than bother the list with
it.
However, If the status quo continues I shall loose no sleep over it
either.
