<< F280's Super FP flash mode: synchronizing from 1/60 to 1/2,000 sec >>
I'm having a real problem understanding how to use my 280 Flash in Super FP to
increase shutter speed as Olympus says 'Sync at any speeds form 1/60th sec to
1/2,000 sec to stop action and reduce ghost images'.
HERE'S MY SET UP:
OM 4T - set on Auto.
280 Flash - set on Super FP on bracket above lens.
135mm Macro / Auto Tube @ 0.43 mag. and 17 inches working distance.
Shots at stationary objects with (moving parts) ie. Humming birds (wings);
Sprinkler head (water droplets) etc.
OBJECTIVE:
1. Shoot at smallest f stop to maximize depth of field.
2. Shoot at maximum shutter speed to stop moving parts and stop ghost images
found with regular TTL flash sync at 1/60th sec.
QUESTIONS:
1. How do you achieve shutter speeds of 1/500, 1,000, and 2,000 sec. with the
camera set to auto and the 280 flash attached?
2. Does the "Auto" setting keep the camera "sync" at 1/60th sec. in Super FP
like it does in regular TTL or does the shutter speed go up automatically to
achieve correct exposure as per the f stop setting?
3. With both the camera and 280 flash set in Manual. Does the flash shoot in
FP mode (flash emmision =1/25 th sec.) or in TTL 1/40,000 th sec.?
Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your help, BW
