I have this "beastie" as you call it. 2 lbs. 4 oz and up to 12" long at 500
mm. It is very good at 100mm, somewhat less sharp than the Zuiko 300/4.5 at
300, and capable of only 5x7 or smaller at 500mm. It was reviewed in PP 4/91.
I still carry it around when I don't want to lug 100, 200, 300, & 400 although
I wouldn't label it "pretty damn good" by any stretch.
