If it's insured, I'd go for full replacement, since the 4T is still being
made. My Dad's 2n succumbed to salt water (along with a 24 and 200mm if i
recall) around 1985, while we trying to land our boat in a storm. (the boat was
swamped by several large waves.)
Since all his gear was stolen a few years previous, he carried good insurance
and had no trouble getting the money. (I recall the estimate on the 2n being
around $400 at the time.)
btw, he took the money and bought a N*k*n AF, which he is still regretting...
