I´ve seen the Konica hoods at an camera show this weeekend. Very solid,
all metal, design, crinkle paint finsh outside and black velvet inside.
The disadvantage of them is the need of adjustment to avoid vigneting.
There are new square hoods too, in Germany sold by HAMA, they are of the
snap on
variety, all plastic, less cool appearance.
The Olympus hood for 24mm, will give you a more "moral suport" then a
effective shade. Additionaly, it will show all onlooker the angle of
view, of your lens, which is unfavourable, if you prefer a
Cartier-Breson style of photographing.
