Sounds like the dreaded fungus (although, were it not for the spider
web, it could just as well have been a layer of molten grease). This
is usually a result of prolonged exposure to heat and humidity.

Yes, it can, if the fungus has not eaten into the lens surfaces.
However, for both 1) and 2), the expense may be prohibitive.

CPC was a medium priced, somewhat above average quality brand.
Dunno who actually made the lenses. Don't expect any fireworks,
'cause you won't get any :-).

Must be an older Tamron. I'm familiar with the 135/f2.5 Adaptall-2,
which is a fine, fine lens. (These days, I salivate over a Tamron
180/f2.5. It's pricey, but still much cheaper than either the Zuiko
180/f2.8 dog, or the Zuiko 180/f2 gem. Any comments on the 180/f2.5?).
Btw, isn't the Soligor an 85-205 C/D lens? Should be an ok lens.
Give them a try, and pls do report your findings to the list.
Good luck,
