Hi all:
We can always counter a commercial posting by reporting where we have seen an
item at a better deal. That can give an indication of the present market
value among savvy shoppers, since we all know that many Shutterbug-class
prices are higher than one has to pay.
In the case of the Olympus OM-2S, I saw a real nice one, but with a scratched
50mm f/1.4, for $200 at Terri & Gerri's Photography in Tavares, Florida. Now
don't go looking for it because it is likely gone (I didn't buy it cause my
money went to a Toyo View A II instead) and was one the shelf last November
when I was last there. I've always liked that store for their bargains. [end
of non-paid testimonial to a dying breed: the Mom and Pop camera store]
It is real interesting to see pawn shops in Las Vegas try to sell at
Shutterbug prices. That results in the stock sitting around! But there are
some who know better. Like a Exc+ T-20 for $8.95? Found that last week!
Good to have found you all. Don't worry, even with aol.com in the sceenname,
I know the rules. I've been a message board watcher or coordinator there for
4 years. I look forward to sharing my 20 years of field experience with
Olympus equipment.
