Foxy preceeded me, as I was going to post a similar note -- for the
benefit of the DYI'ers among us:
Alternative 1: Take an old/broken Hot Shoe 4, hard wire it to an OLY
TTL cord of your choice, attach the shoe with superglue to a base that
either fits on an aftermarket flash grip, or has a tripod socket. This
is the easiest one to accomplish, as all ingredients are easy to find.
Alternative 2: Same as 1, but use the OLY flash extender (as in Foxy's
above msg). Unfortunately, the flash extenders are about as scarce as
the elusive T20 connector.
Alternative 3: Find a Duo-Sync cord for Pentax, Minolta, or Canon, flip
the heads 180 degrees, use some solder to resize and reposition the two
small (non-X) contacts to match the OLY shoe. Beware that this can be
quite messy (I've never done it myself!), but the above Duo-Sync cords
should be easier to find.
Having said that, I still think that the Bounce Grip 2 is the optimal
solution here. It sells for around $100 used, and can feed external
power to T-20/32 strobes (but not to Sunpak, or other 3-rd party!).
Finally, IMHO, now is a good time to invest in a T-32 (or two, or
ten :-)), as OLY has recently discontinued them, which is guaranteed
to make'em scarce, and raise their prices.
Good luck,
/Gary Schloss.
