I can honestly state that my break-dancing skills will not make me eligible
for any Olympics team of ANY country. However, my highly developed ability
to speak nonsense in almost complete sentences is relatively intact.
That said…
I AM GOING TO AUSTRALIA!!!!!! Spending a couple weeks in-country. Flying
into Sydney on January 25, flying out on February 9th. Other than a couple
of days in Sydney on the front end, and a random number of days enjoying
much needed windshield time getting to/from, I will be spending most of my
time in and around the Melbourne area. One of my two globe-trotting
daughters is living there and I’ll be visiting her and going on a few
regional excursions.
However, I will be toting at least one OM Zuiko lens with me and would love
to get together with various long-term OM partners in crime from the past
30 years that are still hanging around. I know Wayne has been reaching out
but I needed to make my public announcement of the impending risk of
possible Schnozz-Sightings.
On a semi-related note, on my return back northward, I’ll be spending a few
days in Hawaii. I’ve never been there before and this trip will complete my
lifelong journey of visiting all fifty states. The last four, which were
the absolute hardest were North Dakota (nobody just goes to North Dakota
unless being punished), Idaho (I was so close so many times), Alaska (had
to move here to see here), and Hawaii (was going to happen sooner but
Covid). So if there are any of us hanging out in Hawaii, same thing about
Zuikofest.
My primary camera kit these days is Sony FF (A9, 24, 20-70, 70-200,
200-600), I’ll probably just take the 20-700, 200-600, and the OMZ 50/1.4
and OMZ 100/2 lenses.
I was going to get some club DJ gigs, but with my level of absolute
exhaustion, I realized that I had to take an actual vacation. I’ll still
have my USB sticks with me “just in case” that I can slap into the CDJs,
but at least I’m not “dialing for dollars” in this and told my agent to
stand down. Actually, she already told me to stand down, so yeah, I’ll
probably stand down. I’
