Hi, Y'all-
Sorry for the delayed reply. I keep replying to the wrong address, and
then wondering why I don't get a response...
John, Frank, and Moose-
Thanks for the info on SD cards. I have a better idea of what to look
for now.
Mike, Martin-
Thanks for the info about that L-Fn button. I've gone through and turned
if off in A, S, and all four custom modes.
Moose-
Just to be sure, I tried silent + single-frame and also got a slow
shutter speed. But when I changed to ProCapture 2( silent and refocuses
before each shot) the shutter speed went to 1/640. ProCapture and human
face detection were two of the very first things I turned on before
taking the camera into the wild. One thing I noticed yesterday with the
second rappeling trip was that the human face focusing was finding the
closer person but not the farther one. But looking at the pictures full
size it appears that f5.6 was enough to get both people in focus. That
sounds like a good price for a Mk2, but I don't need a second one just
yet. Maybe in another five years or so.
Nathan-
I'm effectively shooting slow motion video, and then picking out one or
two frames to publish. Yes, it would be overkill for static or slow
moving subjects.
Thank you all for your thoughts.
Steve
