<<No idea what that might be, this side of the pond. But I'm not interested . .
.
I remember those peas. According to wiki:
"Its name 'marrowfat' was coined around 1730 from marrow and fat.[5] Another
source says the peas were named because people wanted plump (fat) peas of the
Maro variety, a Japanese variety introduced to the UK 100 years ago, predating
the introduction of the Maro pea by almost two centuries.[6][7]"
Often used to make "mushy pea pies." HUGE carb load. There is a very famous
food truck near Woolloomooloo wharf in Sydney called "Harry's Café De Wheels."
Marnie and I stayed near there when I had a talk to give at the GRS meeting in
Oz. We had those concoctions for dinner. Pretty good but don't pine for
another just yet.
One celebrity had those mushy pea pies flown to their party in the US. Hmmmm.
