This morning I uploaded around 100 photos from the family reunion we had in Le
Mans earlier this month. These photos are meant mainly for the family, but I
share them here since some have more universal interest. As you can see, we
indulged in various forms of cultural immersion, such as pétanque and good food
and wine; my wife played a round of golf at the local course; and we had an
emotional ceremony followed by a reception offered by the prefect of La Sarthe,
the region in which Le Mans lies. In general, in these photos there are three
generations of our family: the senior citizens, headed by my French uncle
Joseph (90) and my Florida uncle Zev (83); then my generation, in our 50s and
early 60s, including me, my wife, my cousins from both sides of the Atlantic;
and then the future of the family, the generation of my daughter and her
cousins. The love evident between Monica and her French cousins was a source of
joy for us; one day we will be gone but they will carry on being a family.
