Yesterday I recorded the highest temperature I've ever recorded here in
45 Years, 35/95. The all time official record is/was 94 and that was 35
yrs ago. Today it is predicted to be hotter surpassing 90 at 10:30am. If
we keep the house closed up the inside temps get into the low to mid
80's. Tomorrow hotter yet. We may hit 38/100.The poor fatsia and rhodys
are lookin' sad. I have an AC unit coming on the green and white truck
tomorrow which I had ordered a while ago before this heat wave was a
done deal. Impossible to get one now. All of a sudden the whole PacNW is
re-thinking AC. In the evening we went to the beach where the temps are
10-15 degF cooler next to the 10/50 degree water. And nights are a
tolerable 18/65 with the windows open and fans going. Poor folks in the
urban areas and inland. Our friend in P'land had her chickens inside in
the bathtub.
