I agree about the single photo. The one problem with a photo is that
it fails to catch the motion. In fact, anything over a second loses
most of the delicate structures. This aurora display was overhead and
it was like laying on the floor and looking up through lace curtains
blowing in the breeze. I always love that because they truly are
three-dimensional. It's like you can reach up and touch them.
It got down to around -9F as I was photographing them. Not exactly
balmy, but soooo rewarding.
