My morning bike rides during the week always follow the same route. I cycle the
500 m down to the beach road, turn left (north) towards the centre of El
Campello, pass the town and then the climb up into the mountains begins after
about 6 km. During those initial km, when I look to the right, I usually see
the rising sun. But on Friday morning, I saw some lovely fog and I stopped to
photograph it. A black dog who was playing on the beach while his people were
strolling helpfully provided a compositional feature from which fog photos
usually benefit—something in the foreground that is sharp and not in fog:
