This one was on Brown's Ranch which is part of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve
(44,000 acres) and has many mtn bike/hiking/horse trails. This gila monster is
a young one with body about 8 inches. Full grown they are 14-24 inches (35-60
cm) (with tail add 20%). I have seen the big ones but have not managed a good
photograph.
Sometimes I feel I'm in a mini-Jurassic park.
