How bad is the smoke in Seattle? We have been using our portable air conditioner as a

is indoor air with doors and windows closed.

Do you have central heat? I replaced the cheap dust filters in our with MERV 12 filters. They have been doing a great
job of keeping indoor air clean.
Caveats:
You need to be able to run the fan alone.
I cannot guarantee that running the fan all the time, with filters that may have higher resistance to air flow than it
was designed for will not damage the fan motor.
