Goodwill to the rescue! Some months ago the power supply in my desktop
computer gave up the ghost. I bought a replacement a couple of weeks ago, but
it turned out to not be a replacement. I'm in the process of returning it.
Proper replacements are much too expensive, so I might build up a new Win98/SE
machine with one of the towers I have sitting around.
Window 7 won't let me install the software that I use for designing and
writing, and that desktop machine was running on Win98/SE. But I can run most,
maybe all of it on WinXP. So, I cleaned off the computer desk and set up my one
WinXP laptop. Only trouble was that I didn't have a spare charger. So I went
shopping on evilBay and found a couple for around $12.50 each, which I put on
my watch list. Then I went Goodwill hunting. First store I went into had one
complete with the cord for just $7.49. I'm happy, but I'll still buy one from
evilBay as a spare, unless I can find another one at Goodwill.
I also found out that tomorrow starts green label 50% week, and there's a
pricey item that I would like to have. I'll be there when they open the doors
tomorrow.
