The only part of this thread that interests me is the Gorlitz part. Görlitz is
a town in the former East Germany, on the Polish border. In fact, it forms one
metropolitan area with the Polish city Zgorzelec, to the extent that the two
towns operate a common bus system, thousands of people cross the border every
day to go to work, and it is an amazing example of the reconciliation we have
achieved in our war-plagued continent since 1989. There are problems, for sure,
but the big picture can be appreciated in Görlitz/Zgorzelec.
