I've observed that a local Red-Headed Woodpecker shows up at the feeders
around 5 PM, so today I was waiting for him. Sure enough, he showed up
and I clicked away. I am posting what I felt was the best image I got.
And, for you pixel-peepers, I've given you a large image, but don't ask
me to explain the light-colored edges on the front of the wings. It is
not a result of over-sharpening or over-processing. It is there in the
RAW images. I checked more than one.
Perhaps Doug Herr has an answer.
