Any time I'm out with a macro lens, I keep an eye out for small
insects. While trying my Olympus 50/2.0 Macro on the Oly E-M1 body for
the first time, I spotted this guy. I have often confused these with
sweat bees, but, with a single pair of wings and no stinger, it has been
pointed out to me by my insect and butterfly guru, Dean Hansen, that it
is actually a fly. It is more colorful than most sweat bees.
I searched for the identity of the flower, but there are just too many
of this sort for me to come up with a proper identity.
