<<<Not sure what I may have said, but I only maintain one catalog. I don't much
worry about backing it up, either, since it is completely re-creatable from the
original image files.
I should have provided more details. You recommended two catalogs for two
separate systems rather than maintain one on an external drive. I pretty much
decided to copy virtually all the images over and keep them synced for now with
syncback--- Another transpicuous Moose suggestion. Curiously my transfer rate
on an external SSD is only 26MB/sec with a USB 3.1 connection. That was new at
the time and the USB 3 was not natively supported on the motherboard and it had
some type of new oddball NEC drivers. I don't think they work well and never
have. I should have done something 6 years ago. The Samsung T7 SSD is brand
spanking new--could be a bum unit but will benchmark on the new system to be
sure it is OK. CrystalDiskMark seems quite good and free. See what happens
when one is home more--install benchmark software--not that I don't have other
things to get done.
Not yet cataloged, movin' kinda slow, Mike
