Here in Arizona, spring is announced by finding snakes in the path.
Today, while working in the garage, I almost stepped on this rattlesnake. Since
my snake charming didn't get it to leave I had to resort to a method similar to
lizard catching - used when my cats bring a live lizards into the house. Old
shirt rag on top, then bucket, then sliding a board underneath.

I hope it (he/she?) decides my garage is not the best place to camp again.
I didn't get a photo, but it was weird that several birds came around, landing
on the board and in the buckhorn cholla cactus, right next to the snake??
