My experience has been somewhat opposite of yours. When I first signed up
the number I got had previously belonged to some deadbeat who had skipped out
on a number of bills. The collection agencies would not stop calling no matter
how many times you told them to stop. TracFone changed the number immediately.
A few years later I had a lot of trouble sending images, but the fault
turned out to not be with Tracfone. The phone itself was a nice, compact 3G
flip phone, and the problem was that their parent carrier was dropping 3G
service. So I looked at what they had to offer for 4G and came away with this
really nice LTE 899 phone.
So, my problems with TracFone were not due to them directly but instead
things they were associated with (deadbeat customers, end of 3G service).
TracFone has a much wider range of plans than Liberty or Red Pocket, but
those two are equally affordable plus they offer plans with unlimited data.
So, I've bookmarked them for reference in case things go south.
