Marnie and I spent about 2.5 hrs on the trails behind Crane Beach on Saturday
and came across a couple Snowy Owls. One was at over almost 200 yds and not
really worth an image. Another was on on top of dune so he could look for
voles/mice in one direction and ducks or fish in the ocean-- still about 100
yds away. It was clearly an adult male given the size and lack of markings. We
took almost 20 shots but knew even at a FF equivalent of 800mm any image would
not turn out great. We saw that the dune was not too far from the beach so
hiked about 30 minutes to get on the beach to see if the owl was there and
close enough for a somewhat better shot. He waited for us.

Beautiful shot!.
There's one I would never get; an extra half hour of walking in snow and sand .
