The juxtaposition works well on your site too.
I have lots of photos in The Zone-10 gallery and more in my own gallery, powered by Singapore. But neither is
particularly engaging at the gallery level, with modest size thumbnails spread over lots of dead space.
Looking for something more inviting, I found both Flickr and Google Photos displayed the contents in larger than
thumbnail versions, tiled to fill the space. Google's version simply did that display trick better, at that time. Also,
if I upload properly sized JPEGs, Google doesn't mess them up.
Uploading photos, sharing and managing galleries is easy.
Downsides:
Labeling is awkward and generally useless.
Limited sort orders, and they may differ on different devices(?) For example the shot of the women in red and blue,
Carol and our traveling friend Margaret, properly belongs before the shot of the stag that elicited their awed response.
