Yes, it is about 170 km north of Alicante. I have been there a couple of times.
It is impressive architecture (by the star architect Santiago Calatrava) but it
is also associated with an enormous waste of money in the pre-crisis years
(huge cost overrun, more than a hint of corruption etc.). I have never been
inside (there is a natural history museum, an aquarium and such). It is not in
the very center of Valencia, but close enough to be reasonably accessible.
