Yes. I think that weather prognostication has improved dramatically over 
the last 10 years and it is because the "window" is a lot more 
sophisticated thanks to satellites, radar and more computing power to 
run models.
FWIW we're getting some weather right now and some of the nasty stuff 
from Canada is just in the wings ready to make a dramatic appearance 
busting out the Fraser River. Next week is looking to be interesting.
