You didn't tell us anything about the lens, but I'll bet it can't touch the OM
500/8 by a mile. THAT mirror is consistently rated as one of the best ever made.
But yea, I did the same thing, finding it somewhat dull and lifeless on film.
So I sold mine.
But a few years, I bought another, intending to use it only for digital. It
seems to shine on digital, with more contrast, without post-processing, than
you'd expect. Plus, there's always the "Auto" button.
