Must be in the air. I moved from MA to AZ and lots of boxes. Moving forced me
to get rid of 6+ tons of basement accumulation in MA. At least I have that
going for me.
My wife, who died 19 months ago, kept all receipts, all bank statements,
medical documents, tax returns, ... and all those boxes have been piled into
one room. I have been going through them trying to reclaim the room. It seems
just touching things from the past brings up all sorts of memories and
emotions. But I need to become lighter and less burdened. So I understand
greatly, the urge to clean out. Memories are fickle things.
I have multiple boxes of photos, slides, negatives ... that I debate if I
should dig through or just toss out. Am I really going to try and scan all that
stuff? One of the down sides of not being diligent about editing photos in the
moment. At least terabytes don't take up as much physical space.
I feel if I don't clean out, the new will also not emerge. Good thing houses in
AZ don't have attics or basements.
