I once left my 5D in the warm car one afternoon. After use it had "gunk" on the
sensor that would not blow off. I believe the heat loosened some oil/lubricant
from the shutter, which then landed on the sensor. It took multiple passes
with Eclipse alcohol and pecpads wrapped around cut credit card as a swab. I
have never left a camera in the car again. But I did learn how to clean a
sensor.
My caution using a camera that is very warm. One more advantage for living in
Alaska.
