My goodness; people are so literal, and uptight.
This book was a favorite with my kids, first read to them, then read for
themselves. I see it has 90% five star and 6%
four star reviews on Amazon.
Daniel Pinkwater was another possibly subversive seeming author for kids.
And he wrote more books, which was good. I
think my first was "The Snarkout Boys and the Avocado of Death"
