Well, you've put the name to it; they are thrillers, not murder mysteries. Although there's no hard line 'tween the two,
Allon is clearly on the other side of it.
I do enjoy some thrillers, including Allon. But others, my wife among them, love murder mysteries and eschew thrillers.
So, when asked to recommend mysteries, I don't mention the thrillers.
