Been there, done that, saved most of it and "bought the farm." And also got 
many, many cool photos out of the deal!

But I didn't have a family with me, either. Some of those assignments had a 
"hardship differential" attached to my paycheque.

I remember a chapter from James Michner's "The Drifters," called "The Tech Rep."

"Yea, that's me!" I thought at the time.

I say go for it. My regrets are all about things I *didn't* do.
