Anyone who doesn't want their old aluminum Manfrotto tripods is welcome to send
them to me. I love them. I have a Manfrotto 3011 tripod with 3047 head that I
bought new when I was15 years old. That's 27 years ago! It still works like
new, though the legs have some scratches and there's some paint loss from the
head. That tripod has lived in the trunk of every car I have owned since I was
16 and has traveled the country with me. I doubt it'll ever die, but if I ever
lost it or it was stolen, I'd buy another just like it.

You don't need to kill them. You can sell or donate, and move to the CF
phase of your life. :-)
