I will definitely look at this tomorrow morning. I was just about to do a search on that very subject. Using Process Explorer I was able to see that the bulk of the 100% CPU activity was attributed to "DNS Client". It was processing start requests continuously, creating a list of start attempts that I could barely keep up with.
