This really doesn't surprise me. About 20 years ago, Microsoft either
filed a lawsuit or threatened to do so against used book stores that sold used
software. Microsoft claimed that doing so was a copyright violation. The used
software disappeared overnight in the Bookman's chain here in Arizona.
I recently bought a used copy of the Home/Student version of Office 2007
on evilBay, and shortly after I received it I saw that the entry in my Purchase
History listing was replaced with a notice that the item description had been
yanked. Never found out why, but I'm fairly certain that it was very likely a
similar action by Microsoft, though I see that other copies are still available
there.
