Looking for a headlamp for upcoming trip. Low intensity control seems to be
very important and enough umph to help focus on a foreground. Light weight is
good though enough battery power to last.
Replaceable batteries may be a plus if get stuck but AA are too heavy and
most AAA X3 may not perform well enough.
I have some REI credits and came up with this one:
https://www.rei.com/product/143374/fenix-hm50r-rechargeable-headlamp
No red LED but have seen that is overrated in preserving night vision, though
that does make physiologic sense.
It only has a 16340 rechargeable battery (700mAh) but it will run on
disposable CR123A battery too. I really don't know how long I need it to last.
The highest ranking ones seem to use the 18650 battery which seem to have
2200-2600 mAH.
Thought I'd better check here.
Tx,
In the dark, Mike
