If your keyboard is wired and having problems, that points to something deeper,
perhaps in the OS.
Or if you left the “d” off “wire keyboard,” then I suggest you go out and get a
WIRED keyboard and mouse.

Why the heck do manufacturers shove wireless devices down our throats? Is a
cord or two all that difficult to deal with? I have ONE wireless device - a
trackpad - and it’s been sitting on my desk with a dead battery for months now.
Wireless devices are worse than useless if you want something sitting there,
ready to use, but I inevitably find it sitting there, ready for fresh
batteries, when I actually need to use it!
