I think what that means is that they are not intended to be user-serviced.
The individual cells are spot-welded together into a string, and the two ends
are soldered to the rest of the electronics.
On the diagram Moose supplied, you solder RDJ-B and RDJ-R to pads on the
circuit board.
I think John Hermanson is still willing to do such jobs.
