I like the idea of a wifi/bluetooth release.
It's wonderful, when I want to control the whole camera remotely. When I'm focusing and setting the shot up on the
camera on a tripod, and just want to trip the shutter w/o jarring the camera, a simple button is all I need/want.
Setting up the WiFi app is just another unnecessary time waster.
I speak of the Oly, Panny and Sony WiFi remote apps. The Sony one on my A7 is
particularly goofy and limited.
The ability to use a wired or remote release first appeared on the E-510,
Not Really. E-1 and E-300 have a micro phone plug remote connector, like those on many other cameras. E-400, which
predates the E-510, has the new style, multiple uses USB connector that can be used for remote release.
My wireless remote control gadget can connect to either, with its
interchangeable cables.
